The Tigers and RHP Joel Zumaya avoided arbitration Friday by agreeing to a one-year, $1.4 million contract.
This is his last arbitration-eligible season. Zumaya earned $915,000 last year and underwent season-ending surgery to repair a fracture in his throwing elbow in July. He finished with a 2.58 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 34/11 K/BB ratio over 38 1/3 innings last season and has been limited to 60 innings overall due to injuries over the last two campaigns.

Orioles signed RHP Kevin Gregg to a two-year, $10 million contract with a vesting option for 2013.
The right-hander has been told that he will serve as the Orioles' primary closer this season, but that could always change if something goes awry in spring training or in the first few months of the 2011 season. Koji Uehara and Mike Gonzalez would surely love another crack at the ninth inning if Gregg falters. The 32-year-old posted a 3.51 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 58/30 K/BB ratio last season for the Blue Jays, saving 37 games in 43 chances.

볼티모어 오리올스가 우완투수 케빈 그렉과 2년 1000만달러의 조건과 2013년 옵션이 포함된 계약을 맺었습니다.

이 우완투수는 볼티모어의 마무리 투수가 될것이라고 하며, 고지 우에하라와 마이크 곤잘레스 등과 뒷문을 책임질 것 같습니다.

이 32살의 선수는 올시즌 토론토에서 2승 6패 37세이브 3.51의 방어율을 기록했었습니다.

언터쳐블한 투수는 아니지만 매년 어느정도의 꾸준한 모습을 보여주는 선수라서 기대가 되기는 하지만

현재 볼티모어의 팀 라인업이나 성적기대치를 본다면 그렉이 필요가 있을까하는 생각도 듭니다.

Kris Benson told Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com that he has decided to retire.
"I’m done," said Benson. "I decided pretty much after this past season that I wasn’t going to pursue anything. I’ve been putting way too much into it and not getting enough out of it, as far as the rehab, working out, training, and then not getting the type of results I expect from myself." Benson, now 36 years old, had a 5.14 ERA over three starts with the Diamondbacks last season, but didn't make an appearance after April due to more shoulder problems. 36살의 우완투수 크리스 밴슨은 다 끝났다고 말했습니다. 

2006년 이후로 어깨 부상 때문에 풀시즌을 소화한적이 없으며, 2010 시즌에는 애리조나와 계약을 맺고 트리플 A와 메이저리그

에서 투구하였지만 인상을 남기지는 못했습니다. 

아시다시피 1996년 드래프트 전체 1번으로 피츠버그에 입단하여 선수생활을 시작하였으며, 통산 70승 75패 4.42의 방어율을

기록하고 커리어를 마감하게 되었습니다.

Blue Jays claimed LHP Wil Ledezma off waivers from the Pirates.
Ledezma, who turns 30 later this month, was designated for assignment by the Pirates before the holidays. While the southpaw posted a 0.94 ERA and 50/19 K/BB ratio over 38 1/3 innings with Triple-A Indianapolis last season, he had a 6.86 ERA over 27 relief appearances with the Pirates.

The Padres claimed Liz off waivers from the Orioles before the 2010 season but were unimpressed with the 4.83 ERA and 1.35 WHIP that he posted in 25 appearances at the Triple-A level last year. The 27-year-old righty will be on the hunt for a minor league contract and a spring training invite.

The 28-year-old infielder can earn $575,000 if he makes the Padres' major league roster, but that seems unlikely. Frandsen hit just .250/.294/.319 with 14 RBI in 160 at-bats last year for the Angels.

Indians signed RHP Doug Mathis to a minor league contract.
He'll also get an invite to major league spring training. Mathis posted a 6.04 ERA and 10/11 K/BB ratio in 22 1/3 innings over four stints with the Rangers last season. The 27-year-old right-hander didn't fare much better in the minors, compiling a 5.66 ERA and 54/31 K/BB ratio over 89 innings with Triple-A Oklahoma City.

He'll also get an invite to spring training. Pena, a former shortstop with Atlanta and Kansas City, converted to a pitcher during the 2009 season. The 29-year-old right-hander has a 3.76 ERA and 80/35 K/BB ratio over 95 2/3 innings as a reliever in the minor leagues. He struggled at the Triple-A level in the Giants organization last season, posting a 6.60 ERA and 21/14 K/BB ratio over 30 innings.

보스턴 레드삭스와 우완투수 토니 페냐 주니어와 마이너리그 계약을 맺었습니다.

애틀란타와 캔자스시티를 거친 전 유격수 선수로서, 올시즌 샌프란시스코 더블 A와 트리플 A에서 던졌습니다.

저는 시삭스에 있는 강속구 투수 말하는줄 알았는데, 유격수 보던 페냐 였습니다.

2009년에도 투수로 던진기록이 몇 게임 있기는 한데, 2010시즌부터 본격적으로 전향한듯 싶습니다.

Pirates signed INF Garrett Atkins to a minor league contract.
He'll get an invite to spring training and will be reunited with his former skipper Clint Hurdle. Atkins batted just .214/.276/.286 with one home run and nine RBI over 140 at-bats with the Orioles last season before being released in early July. The 31-year-old has completely fallen off the map over the past two seasons, but he could surprise as long as he is limited to at-bats against left-handed pitching.

피츠버그 파이어리츠가 내야수 게럿 앳킨스와 마이너리그 계약을 맺었습니다.

앳킨스는 스프링 캠프에 초대될 것이며, 그곳에는 콜로로다 시절 감독이었던 클린트 허들이 있습니다.(피츠버그 감독)

올시즌 볼티모어에서 140타석에서 부진한 모습을 보였으며, 기회를 얻게 된다면 좌투수 상대로의 출전이 가능할 듯 싶습니다.

마이너 계약이라 부담이 없고, 건강하다면 어느정도 성적은 찍어줄 수 있을 것이라고 보여지기때문에, 피츠버그에게는 효율성을

앳킨스에게는 재기의 발판을 마련할 수 있지 않을까 생각되네요.

Pirates designated LHP Wil Ledezma for assignment.
It's odd that the Pirates didn't just non-tender him in the first place last month. Ledezma was cleared to create a spot on the 40-man roster for Aaron Thompson, who was claimed off waivers from the Nationals. The southpaw posted a 6.86 ERA and 22/6 K/BB ratio over 19 2/3 innings this past season.

한편 피츠버그는 워싱턴에서 웨이버공시된 아론 톰슨을 영입했으며, 그의 자리를 마련하기 위해 좌완투수 윌프레도 레데즈마를

지명할당 조치하였습니다.

성지글로 한번 히메네즈, 왈론드와 계약을 못했고, 하지않은 두산베어스행을 예측해 보겠습니다. ㅎㅎ

Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com reports that the Blue Jays, Pirates and Rays are interested in Octavio Dotel.
Dotel doesn't make a whole lot of sense in a return to Pittsburgh, as they already have two quality late-game options, but the Rays and Blue Jays are in the process of reconstructing their respective bullpens. 3팀 중에서는 토론토나 템파베이가 피츠버그 보다는 포스트시즌 가능성이 있기때문에 그쪽으로 갈 것 같습니다.

Diamondbacks signed OF Xavier Nady to a one-year, $1.75 million contract.
The 32-year-old can also earn up to $1 million via performance-based incentives. He hit just .256/.306/.353 with six home runs in 317 at-bats this year for Chicago, but it wasn't long ago that he was crushing balls for the Pirates. The D'Backs will use him in the outfield and at first base.

Orioles signed RHP Jeremy Accardo to a one-year, $1.08 million contract.
Accardo was non-tendered by the Blue Jays after posting an 8.10 ERA and 2.25 WHIP over five appearances in 2010. The O's will hope that he can bounce back to the kind of form that he showed in his earlier years in Toronto. He registered a gorgeous 2.14 ERA over 64 appearances back in 2007.

Brewers and OF Carlos Gomez avoided arbitration Friday by agreeing to a one-year, $1.5 million contract.
It doesn't change the fact that he still could be traded, as the Brewers are likely to start Lorenzo Cain in center field and would love to barter Gomez for a decent pitcher if they can. Gomez is a terrific defender but simply doesn't get on base enough to utilize his speed.

내년시즌은 과연 잠재력 폭발을 할 수 있을지 모르겠습니다. 



Athletics claimed RHP Philip Humber off waivers from the Royals.
Humber, a former first-round pick, was designated for assignment by Kansas City earlier this week. He finished with a decent 4.15 ERA and 1.34 WHIP in 2010 at the big league level and may climb his way to the majors next year as an Athletic if things go well at spring training.

오클랜드 에이스가 우완투수 필립 험버를 영입했습니다.

Pirates signed RHP Kevin Correia to a two-year, $8 million contract.
The 30-year-old posted a 5.40 ERA and 1.49 WHIP over 28 games (26 starts) with the Padres this past season. A higher walk and home run rate resulted in Correia regressing from the previous season, and although he could improve both rates in 2011, going from San Diego to Pittsburgh won't help him. We're not expecting him to do anything more than eat some innings.

피츠버그 파이어리츠가 우완투수 케빈 코레이아와 2년 8백만달러의 조건으로 계약을 맺었습니다.

이 30살의 선수는 올시즌 파드레스에서 주로 선발로 뛰며, 5.40의 방어율을 기록했습니다.

개인적으로는 의문의 영입이라고 생각합니다.

4,5선발 정도의 선수가 피츠버그에 지금 연간 400만달러의 돈을 지불하면서 필요가 있을까 싶고, 투수진의 경험많은 선수를 원한다면

코레이아 보다는 더 낳은 선수를 영입했어야 하는게 아닌지 생각됩니다.



Rays signed RHP Joel Peralta to a one-year, $925,000 contract.
Peralta was curiously non-tendered by the Nationals this month despite posting a stellar 2.02 ERA and 49/9 K/BB ratio over 49 innings in 2010. He should be a valuable piece in middle relief for the Rays.

템파베이 레이스가 우완투수 조엘 페랄타와 1년 92.5만달러의 조건으로 계약을 맺었습니다.

투수진의 출혈이 큰 레이스 불펜에 한 자리를 차지할 수 있을 것 같습니다.



Nationals signed RHP Chad Gaudin to a minor league contract.
The deal also includes an invitation to spring training, where Gaudin will attempt to win a spot in the Nationals' bullpen as a long reliever. He posted a 5.65 ERA and 1.50 WHIP over 65 1/3 innings this past year.

워싱턴 내셔널스가 우완투수 채드 고딘과 마이너 계약을 맺었습니다.

불펜에서 롱 릴리버 역할을 노릴 것 이라고 합니다.

1983년생인데, 워싱턴이 7번째 메이저리그 팀입니다.

Padres signed RHP Dustin Moseley to a one-year, $900,000 contract.
Moseley was non-tendered by the Yankees earlier this month after posting a 4.96 ERA and 1.42 ERA over 65 1/3 innings during the 2010 season The Padres are likely to use him in long relief and hope he finds better results in a bigger park. He may also be in line for a few spot starts.

샌디에이고 파드레스가 우완투수 더스틴 모슬리와 1년 90만달러의 조건으로 계약했습니다.

올시즌 양키스에서 뛰었으며, 시즌 종료 후 논텐더로 풀렸엇습니다. 좋은계약이 되지 않을까 싶습니다.


Mariners re-signed OF Ryan Langerhans to a minor league contract.
Langerhans also got an invitation to spring training, but he is unlikely to land a spot on Seattle's Opening Day roster after batting just .196/.344/.318 with three home runs over 107 at-bats for the M's in 2010.

시애틀 매리너스가 외야수 라이언 랭거한스와 마이너리그 계약으로 재계약을 맺었습니다.

수비는 괜찮지만 타격이 약한 타입입니다.

Nationals signed OF Matt Stairs to a minor league contract.
The deal also includes an invitation to spring training, where Stairs will look to claim a spot on the Nationals' 2011 bench. He hit six homers and six doubles in 99 at-bats for the Padres in 2010 and is a fine left-handed pinch-hitting option. Granted, he is a liability in the outfield.

워싱턴 내셔널스가 외야수 맷 스테어스와 마이너리그 계약을 맺었습니다.

나이가 많지만 일발 장타력을 가진 대타요원도 이만한 선수 없는 것 같습니다. 


Marlins signed LHP Randy Choate to a two-year, $2.5 million contract.
Choate, 35, will earn $1 million in 2011 and $1.5 million in 2012 with the opportunity to gain another $150,000 in performance-based incentives. He held left-handed batters to a sparkling .202/.263/.266 batting line this year and should make for a fine lefty specialist in 2011 for the Fish.

플로리다 말린스과 좌완투수 랜디 쵸트와 2년 250만달러의 조건으로 계약했습니다.

올해 35살의 선수로서 2011년엔 100만달러, 2012년에는 150만달러의 연봉을 받게 되며, 성적에 따라 15만달러의 옵션도 있습니다.

올시즌 템파베이에스 뛰었었습니다.


Royals designated RHP Philip Humber for assignment.
The Royals had to clear a spot on their 40-man roster for recently-signed outfielder Jeff Francoeur. Humber, 27, posted a decent 4.15 ERA and 1.34 WHIP in 2010, but he carries an ugly 5.26 career ERA.

A's signed RHP Vinnie Chulk to a minor league contract.
Chulk posted a 4.96 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 10.5 K/9 rate at Triple-A Indianapolis in the Pirates organization in 2010 before being sold to the Hiroshima Toyo Carps in Japan at midseason. He didn't fare well overseas, posting a 5.79 ERA over 18 2/3 innings. Chulk has a 4.33 ERA and 1.39 WHIP over 276 1/3 career major league innings and will compete for a bullpen spot in spring training.

Blue Jays signed 3B Edwin Encarnacion to a one-year, $2.5 million contract with a $3.5 million club option for 2012.
Encarnacion was claimed off waivers by the Athletics in November, but the Blue Jays were probably going to non-tender him, anyway. They ended up getting him back for significantly less than than $4.75 million he made this past season, so Alex Anthopoulos did pretty well here. Encarnacion, who turns 28 in January, batted just .244/.305/.482 with 21 homers and 51 RBI in 2010. He's an awful defender at the hot corner, so it looks like the Jays plan to use him in a tandem with Adam Lind at first base and designated hitter moving forward.

Evertt hit just .185/.221/.247 over 81 at-bats for Detroit last season before getting released and taking the rest of the year off. Although not as good as he used to be, Everett is still pretty slick with the leather. He will compete for a bench spot.

According to SI.com's Jon Heyman, Magglio Ordonez has re-signed with the Tigers on a one-year, $10 million deal.
Heyman says Maggs turned down two-year offers elsewhere because of his loyalty to Tigers owner Mike Ilitch. That's quite a bit of money to pay for a soon-to-be 37-year-old coming off major ankle surgery whose production has been in decline, but they likely had to up their offer in order to get him to take the one-year pact.
