According to Rob Biertempfel of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, the Cardinals are eyeing Andy LaRoche as a potential trade target.
He'll have to clear waivers first, of course. LaRoche, who turns 27 in September, is batting .223/.290/.299 with three home runs and 14 RBI this season and was pushed out of a starting job after the promotion of top prospect Pedro Alvarez. The Cardinals are believed to be looking for options now that David Freese is expected to miss the rest of the season due to ankle surgery.

트레이드 마감시한이 지났기 때문에 트레이드가 발생하면 웨이버공시에 의한 트레이드가 될 것입니다.

앤디 라로쉬도 LA 다저스 마이너 시절에 유망주로 각광받았던것이 어제같은데 이제는 터질것이라는 기대가 단 몇프로도 들지 않습니다.

Akinori Iwamura, who is currently playing with Triple-A Indianapolis, was hospitalized and diagnosed with a concussion after a collision while running the bases Wednesday.
He ran into an infielder covering first base during the first inning of Wednesday's game. A CT scan and other tests came back negative, according to Pirates director of player development Kyle Stark, but Iwamura will be re-evaluated later in the week. Iwamura is batting .299/.450/.437 with two homers and 12 RBI over 87 at-bats since being optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis last month.

수요일 경기에서 1회말 수비에서 1루 베이스 커버를 하던중 상대선수와 충돌한 것으로 보입니다.

뇌진탕을 입어 병원에서  CT촬영등의 검사를 받았다고 합니다.

이번주말 정도에 다시 검진예정이라고 합니다.

올시즌 피츠버그에서 부진한 활약속에 얼마전 지명할당되었지만 찾는팀이 없어 트리플A에서 뛰던 

이와무라는 트리플A에서 87타석에서 .299의 타율 홈런 2개 12타점을 기록중이였습니다.

Rays recalled OF Matt Joyce from Triple-A Durham.
Finally. Joyce has batted .316/.460/.556 between High-A Charlotte and Triple-A Durham this season. The 25-year-old outfielder will provide the Rays with an insurance policy for Carl Crawford, who left Thursday's game with a sore shoulder. Joyce is worth an investment in AL-only formats.

Durbin strained his hamstring during the ninth inning of Wednesday's win over the Indians. It's a tough break for a bullpen that is already without the services of setup man Ryan Madson. Durbin has a 3.31 ERA and 1.19 WHIP over 29 appearances this season.

Valbuena opened the season as the Indians' starting second baseman, but has hit just .166 with a .269 on-base percentage over 151 at-bats and will head to the minors to work on his swing. Jayson Nix was claimed off waivers Thursday and should see regular time at second base moving forward.

Reds signed OF Gary Matthews Jr. to a minor league contract.
Matthews will report to Triple-A Louisville this weekend to begin his Reds career. The 35-year-old outfielder hit .190/.266/.241 with one RBI in 58 at-bats for the Mets before they gave up on him in mid-June.

Orioles optioned RHP Chris Tillman to Triple-A Norfolk.
Tillman surrendered 15 runs -- 14 earned -- in four starts with the O's and will leave behind an 0-3 record, an 8.40 ERA and a 2.20 WHIP. The 22-year-old right-hander needs to begin showing signs of progress or he will join a long line of pitching prospect busts in Baltimore.

Indians recalled RHP Joe Smtih from Triple-A Columbus.
A roster spot was cleared for Smith on Monday when struggling starter David Huff was optioned to the minor leagues. Smith has been doing quite well as a late reliever down on the farm, with a 2.09 ERA in his last 19 appearances, and will serve in middle relief for the Tribe.

As expected. Cruz has been on the disabled list since May 29 due to a left hamstring strain. He returns to a .327/.405/.729 triple-slash to go along with 10 home runs and 34 RBI.

Neal Cotts will miss the rest of the season due to hip surgery.
Cotts was already making his way back from Tommy John surgery, so this is obviously a pretty disappointing blow. The 30-year-old southpaw signed a minor league contract with the Pirates in January. He hasn't thrown a pitch in the majors since last May as a member of the Cubs.
