ESPN 제리 크레스닉에 따르면 아메리칸리그 동부지구 토론토 블루제이스가 베테랑 유격수 오마 비스켈과

1년계약을 맺었다는 소식을 전해왔습니다.


크레스닉은 자신의 트위터를 통해 이 베테랑 유격수가 다시 필드로 돌아온 이유가 궁금하다고 합니다. 

그러나 그는 복귀를 했고, 이제 비스켈은 24번째 시즌을 메이저리그에서 맞을 것 이라고 합니다.

비스켈은 올해 4월이 되면 45살이 됩니다.


2011시즌 시카고 화이트 삭스에서 182타석동안 타율/출루율/장타율 .251/.287/.305를 기록했으며,

7개의 2루타와 8개의 타점을 기록했습니다.

그는 토론토에서 내야 유틸리티 수비수로서 활동할 것입니다.


통산 2908경기 출장, 2841안타, 유격수 포지션 통산 수비율 .985

수비하나로 은퇴 후 명예의 전당 입성이 확실시 되는 선수입니다.

He asked for and was given his release by the Blue Jays earlier

this month after it was apparent that he wasn't in their plans.

Pods, who had a .254/.366/.356 batting line over his first 71

plate appearances at Triple-A Las Vegas before being

cut loose, will give the Phillies some outfield depth with

Shane Victorino on the disabled list.

기록했습니다.

필리스의 이번영입은 외야 뎁스 보강 차원에서 이루어졌습니다.

이 선수도 생각보다 자리를 못잡고 여기저기 팀을 자주 옮기네요.. 필리스에서는 과연 기회를 얻을 수 

있을지 모르겠습니다.

According to Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com, the Blue Jays would like to trade Juan Rivera.
Rivera was acquired from the Rangers as part of the Vernon Wells deal last month, but much like Mike Napoli, he might not be long for Toronto. The 32-year-old outfielder doesn't fit in the team's long-term plans and Alex Anthopoulos would likely be thrilled to shed his $5.25 million salary. Rosenthal notes that a deal is unlikely to occur before spring training.

폭스 스포츠닷컴 캔 로젠탈에 의하면 토론토 블루제이스가 외야수 후안 리베라에 대해서 트레이드 하기를 원한다고 합니다.

리베라는 지난 달 토론토와 애인절스와의 벌어진 거래에 일부로서, 마이크 나폴리와 토론토로 트레이드 됬었습니다.

그러나 같이 온 나폴리는 다시 트레이드를 통해 텍사스 레인저스로 이적을 했는데요. 

나폴리의 경우처럼 리베라 또한 내보내기를 원하는 것 같습니다.


나폴리는 올해 32살의 외야수로 양키스와 몬트리올(워싱턴)을 거쳐 LA 애인절스에서 오랫동안 뛰었는데요,

팀의 단장인 알렉스 앤쏘폴리스는 그의 525만달러의 연봉을 들어 장기적인 계획에는 맞지 않는 선수라고 말했습니다.

로젠탈은 후안 리베라의 트레이드가 스프링 캠프 이전에는 일어나지 않을 것이라고 합니다.

아무래도 토론토는 바티스타 - 데이비스 - 트래비스 스나이더 정도로 외야진을 구성하지 않을까 싶습니다.

Orioles signed RHP Kevin Gregg to a two-year, $10 million contract with a vesting option for 2013.
The right-hander has been told that he will serve as the Orioles' primary closer this season, but that could always change if something goes awry in spring training or in the first few months of the 2011 season. Koji Uehara and Mike Gonzalez would surely love another crack at the ninth inning if Gregg falters. The 32-year-old posted a 3.51 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 58/30 K/BB ratio last season for the Blue Jays, saving 37 games in 43 chances.

볼티모어 오리올스가 우완투수 케빈 그렉과 2년 1000만달러의 조건과 2013년 옵션이 포함된 계약을 맺었습니다.

이 우완투수는 볼티모어의 마무리 투수가 될것이라고 하며, 고지 우에하라와 마이크 곤잘레스 등과 뒷문을 책임질 것 같습니다.

이 32살의 선수는 올시즌 토론토에서 2승 6패 37세이브 3.51의 방어율을 기록했었습니다.

언터쳐블한 투수는 아니지만 매년 어느정도의 꾸준한 모습을 보여주는 선수라서 기대가 되기는 하지만

현재 볼티모어의 팀 라인업이나 성적기대치를 본다면 그렉이 필요가 있을까하는 생각도 듭니다.

Blue Jays claimed LHP Wil Ledezma off waivers from the Pirates.
Ledezma, who turns 30 later this month, was designated for assignment by the Pirates before the holidays. While the southpaw posted a 0.94 ERA and 50/19 K/BB ratio over 38 1/3 innings with Triple-A Indianapolis last season, he had a 6.86 ERA over 27 relief appearances with the Pirates.

The Padres claimed Liz off waivers from the Orioles before the 2010 season but were unimpressed with the 4.83 ERA and 1.35 WHIP that he posted in 25 appearances at the Triple-A level last year. The 27-year-old righty will be on the hunt for a minor league contract and a spring training invite.

Padres signed INF Kevin Frandsen to a minor league contract.

He'll also get an invite to major league spring training. Mathis posted a 6.04 ERA and 10/11 K/BB ratio in 22 1/3 innings over four stints with the Rangers last season. The 27-year-old right-hander didn't fare much better in the minors, compiling a 5.66 ERA and 54/31 K/BB ratio over 89 innings with Triple-A Oklahoma City.

클리브랜드 인디언스가 우완투수 덕 매티스와 마이너리그 계약을 맺었습니다.

메이저리그 스프링 캠프에 초청될 것이며, 지난 시즌 텍사스 레인저스에서 메이저리그와 트리플 A를 오가며 던졌습니다.

Red Sox signed RHP Tony Pena Jr. to a minor league contract.
He'll also get an invite to spring training. Pena, a former shortstop with Atlanta and Kansas City, converted to a pitcher during the 2009 season. The 29-year-old right-hander has a 3.76 ERA and 80/35 K/BB ratio over 95 2/3 innings as a reliever in the minor leagues. He struggled at the Triple-A level in the Giants organization last season, posting a 6.60 ERA and 21/14 K/BB ratio over 30 innings.

보스턴 레드삭스와 우완투수 토니 페냐 주니어와 마이너리그 계약을 맺었습니다.

애틀란타와 캔자스시티를 거친 전 유격수 선수로서, 올시즌 샌프란시스코 더블 A와 트리플 A에서 던졌습니다.

저는 시삭스에 있는 강속구 투수 말하는줄 알았는데, 유격수 보던 페냐 였습니다.

2009년에도 투수로 던진기록이 몇 게임 있기는 한데, 2010시즌부터 본격적으로 전향한듯 싶습니다.

Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com reports that the Blue Jays, Pirates and Rays are interested in Octavio Dotel.
Dotel doesn't make a whole lot of sense in a return to Pittsburgh, as they already have two quality late-game options, but the Rays and Blue Jays are in the process of reconstructing their respective bullpens. 불펜투수인 옥타비오 도텔은 올시즌 피츠버그, 다저스, 로키스에서 64이닝동안 3승 4패 4.08의 방어율을 기록했습니다.

3팀 중에서는 토론토나 템파베이가 피츠버그 보다는 포스트시즌 가능성이 있기때문에 그쪽으로 갈 것 같습니다.

템파베이 가서 마무리하면 딱 일 것 같습니다.

The 32-year-old can also earn up to $1 million via performance-based incentives. He hit just .256/.306/.353 with six home runs in 317 at-bats this year for Chicago, but it wasn't long ago that he was crushing balls for the Pirates. The D'Backs will use him in the outfield and at first base.

Orioles signed RHP Jeremy Accardo to a one-year, $1.08 million contract.
Accardo was non-tendered by the Blue Jays after posting an 8.10 ERA and 2.25 WHIP over five appearances in 2010. The O's will hope that he can bounce back to the kind of form that he showed in his earlier years in Toronto. He registered a gorgeous 2.14 ERA over 64 appearances back in 2007.

Brewers and OF Carlos Gomez avoided arbitration Friday by agreeing to a one-year, $1.5 million contract.
It doesn't change the fact that he still could be traded, as the Brewers are likely to start Lorenzo Cain in center field and would love to barter Gomez for a decent pitcher if they can. Gomez is a terrific defender but simply doesn't get on base enough to utilize his speed.

Athletics claimed RHP Philip Humber off waivers from the Royals.
Humber, a former first-round pick, was designated for assignment by Kansas City earlier this week. He finished with a decent 4.15 ERA and 1.34 WHIP in 2010 at the big league level and may climb his way to the majors next year as an Athletic if things go well at spring training.

Pirates signed RHP Kevin Correia to a two-year, $8 million contract.
The 30-year-old posted a 5.40 ERA and 1.49 WHIP over 28 games (26 starts) with the Padres this past season. A higher walk and home run rate resulted in Correia regressing from the previous season, and although he could improve both rates in 2011, going from San Diego to Pittsburgh won't help him. We're not expecting him to do anything more than eat some innings.

피츠버그 파이어리츠가 우완투수 케빈 코레이아와 2년 8백만달러의 조건으로 계약을 맺었습니다.

이 30살의 선수는 올시즌 파드레스에서 주로 선발로 뛰며, 5.40의 방어율을 기록했습니다.

개인적으로는 의문의 영입이라고 생각합니다.

4,5선발 정도의 선수가 피츠버그에 지금 연간 400만달러의 돈을 지불하면서 필요가 있을까 싶고, 투수진의 경험많은 선수를 원한다면

코레이아 보다는 더 낳은 선수를 영입했어야 하는게 아닌지 생각됩니다.



Rays signed RHP Joel Peralta to a one-year, $925,000 contract.
Peralta was curiously non-tendered by the Nationals this month despite posting a stellar 2.02 ERA and 49/9 K/BB ratio over 49 innings in 2010. He should be a valuable piece in middle relief for the Rays.

템파베이 레이스가 우완투수 조엘 페랄타와 1년 92.5만달러의 조건으로 계약을 맺었습니다.

투수진의 출혈이 큰 레이스 불펜에 한 자리를 차지할 수 있을 것 같습니다.



Nationals signed RHP Chad Gaudin to a minor league contract.
The deal also includes an invitation to spring training, where Gaudin will attempt to win a spot in the Nationals' bullpen as a long reliever. He posted a 5.65 ERA and 1.50 WHIP over 65 1/3 innings this past year.

워싱턴 내셔널스가 우완투수 채드 고딘과 마이너 계약을 맺었습니다.

불펜에서 롱 릴리버 역할을 노릴 것 이라고 합니다.

1983년생인데, 워싱턴이 7번째 메이저리그 팀입니다.

Blue Jays claimed RHP Taylor Buchholz off waivers from the Rockies.
It's a bit surprising that the 28-year-old Buchholz made it through waivers and into Toronto's grasp. Sure, he posted an ugly 4.50 ERA and 9/6 K/BB ratio in 10 innings this year for the Rockies, but a few years ago he was regarded as one of the top young setup men in the game. The right-hander will look to turn things around in a new environment.

토론토 블루제이스가 콜로라도 로키스에서 웨이버 공시된 우완투수 테일러 벅홀츠에게 클레임을 통한 영입을 했습니다.

올해 28살의 우완투수인 벅홀츠는 부상에서 7월말에 돌아와 10이닝 동안 4.50의 방어율을 기록했습니다.

올시즌 연봉은 105만달러 정도였습니다.

Marlins signed 3B Wes Helms to a one-year, $1 million contract extension.
Helms has done a solid enough job at third base since the Marlins traded Jorge Cantu to the Rangers in July. The 34-year-old will make for a fine backup infielder in 2011, assuming the Fish make a few upgrades, and got a nice little raise from the $950,000 that he's earning this year.

Blue Jays optioned C J.P. Arencibia to Triple-A Las Vegas.
The Jays have wisely tempered their excitement about the young power-hitting catcher. Sure, Arencibia is an exciting guy to watch in what has been a disappointing year for Toronto fans, but the 24-year-old is better off seeing regular playing time down on the farm. John Buck is expected return from the disabled list and take over starting catcher duties for the Jays on Friday.

As expected, Holland will make the start against the Rangers on Wednesday afternoon. The young southpaw hasn't pitched in the big leagues since May 30 due to left rotator cuff inflammation. He is 2-1 with a 4.00 ERA in four starts since returning to action with Triple-A Oklahoma City. He's worth picking up in AL-only leagues down the stretch.

Reds designated RHP Micah Owings for assignment.
Owings posted a 5.40 ERA and 1.59 WHIP over 22 relief appearances this year for the Reds before they optioned him in late July. He's a great athlete and may draw interest from pitching-desperate teams. The move cleared a 40-man roster spot for first-round draft pick Yasmani Grandal.

Wellemeyer ate some innings for the Giants earlier this season but belongs nowhere near a playoff caliber pitching stuff. He posted a 5.52 ERA over 11 starts and will probably look for a bullpen gig elsewhere.

Dobbs was also designated for assignment back in June and passed through waivers pretty easily. Why? Because he's 32, he's batting .191/.250/.319 in 141 at-bats this year, and he is a .261/.307/.411 career hitter. Look for him to wind up at Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

필라델피아 필리스가 3루수 그렉 돕스를 지명할당 조치했습니다.

올시즌 백업요원으로 141타수 동안 타/출장/ .191/.250/.319를 기록했으며 지난 4년간 필리스에서 백업선수로 생활했습니다.

지난 6월에도 지명할당 된적이 있었다고 하네요

그 당시 트리플 A에서 경기 뛴적도 있고 이번에도 트리플A로 가지 않을까 싶습니다.

오클랜드 에이스의 탑 유망주 크리스 카터가 지난 8월 9일자로 승격되었습니다.

자신의 포지션인 1루수보다는 좌익수로서 출장할것이라고 예상됬었고, 실제로도 출장한 5경기 모두 좌익수로 출장했는데요

그런데 카터는 현재 16타석 무안타 볼넷 1개와 삼진 7개를 기록하며 16타석 연속 무안타 행진중입니다.

1986년생으로 오클랜드에서 참으로 오랜만에 등장하는 슬러거 유망주라서 계속 기대를 가지고 지켜보고 있습니다.

내일은 미네소타와의 시리즈 마지막전에 케빈 슬로위를 상대하며, 그 다음날부터는 토론토와의 시리즈에는

션 마컴-브랜든 모로우-마크 리핀스키로 이어지는 만만치 않은 투수들을 상대하게 됩니다.

크리스 카터가 빠른시간내에 빅리그 첫 안타를 쳐내고 하루빨리 적응해서 팀의 중심타자가 되어주길 바라고 있습니다...
