Giants signed RHP Jeff Suppan to a minor league contract.
Suppan still has to make the team out of spring training to trigger his $1 million salary, and that's not going to be an easy feat. The Giants are already locked into five rotation candidates and they don't necessarily have an opening in the bullpen. On top of that, Suppan posted a miserable 5.06 ERA and 1.56 WHIP last season and turned 36 years old earlier this month.

수판은 스프링 트레이닝 전까지 자신에게 1백만달러의 급여를 지불해줄 팀을 찾고있으나, 쉽지 않을 것이라고 합니다.

자이언츠는 이미 린스컴-케인-범가너-지토-산체스등으로 이어지는 5인 선발 로테이션이 잘 구축되었기 때문에, 수판이

선발투수로 들어갈 수 있는 확률은 별로 없어보입니다.

2007년 밀워키 브루어스와 4년 4200만달러의 계약을 맺었으나, 돈 값을 못하면서, 시즌중에 방출 후 세인트루이스에서 시즌을

마감했습니다.

밀워키는 이 당시 왜 수판과 저런 계약을 했는지 모르겠네요. 커리어를 봐도 저정도 계약을 안겨줄 선수는 아닌 것 같은데..

Blue Jays claimed LHP Wil Ledezma off waivers from the Pirates.
Ledezma, who turns 30 later this month, was designated for assignment by the Pirates before the holidays. While the southpaw posted a 0.94 ERA and 50/19 K/BB ratio over 38 1/3 innings with Triple-A Indianapolis last season, he had a 6.86 ERA over 27 relief appearances with the Pirates.

Padres released RHP Radhames Liz.
The Padres claimed Liz off waivers from the Orioles before the 2010 season but were unimpressed with the 4.83 ERA and 1.35 WHIP that he posted in 25 appearances at the Triple-A level last year. The 27-year-old righty will be on the hunt for a minor league contract and a spring training invite.

Padres signed INF Kevin Frandsen to a minor league contract.
The 28-year-old infielder can earn $575,000 if he makes the Padres' major league roster, but that seems unlikely. Frandsen hit just .250/.294/.319 with 14 RBI in 160 at-bats last year for the Angels.

Quiroz elected to become a free agent in November after the Mariners sent him outright to Triple-A Tacoma. The 29-year-old appeared in only two big league games last year and won't play a major role in San Diego.

Indians signed RHP Doug Mathis to a minor league contract.
He'll also get an invite to major league spring training. Mathis posted a 6.04 ERA and 10/11 K/BB ratio in 22 1/3 innings over four stints with the Rangers last season. The 27-year-old right-hander didn't fare much better in the minors, compiling a 5.66 ERA and 54/31 K/BB ratio over 89 innings with Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Red Sox signed RHP Tony Pena Jr. to a minor league contract.
He'll also get an invite to spring training. Pena, a former shortstop with Atlanta and Kansas City, converted to a pitcher during the 2009 season. The 29-year-old right-hander has a 3.76 ERA and 80/35 K/BB ratio over 95 2/3 innings as a reliever in the minor leagues. He struggled at the Triple-A level in the Giants organization last season, posting a 6.60 ERA and 21/14 K/BB ratio over 30 innings.

보스턴 레드삭스와 우완투수 토니 페냐 주니어와 마이너리그 계약을 맺었습니다.

애틀란타와 캔자스시티를 거친 전 유격수 선수로서, 올시즌 샌프란시스코 더블 A와 트리플 A에서 던졌습니다.

저는 시삭스에 있는 강속구 투수 말하는줄 알았는데, 유격수 보던 페냐 였습니다.

2009년에도 투수로 던진기록이 몇 게임 있기는 한데, 2010시즌부터 본격적으로 전향한듯 싶습니다.

Sources told FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal that the Giants were the team awarded a claim on Cody Ross.

팍스 스포츠 닷컴 캔 로젠탈에 의하면 샌프란 시스코 자이언츠가 플로리다의 외야수 코디 로스에게

클레임을 걸었다고 합니다.(코디 로스가 웨이버 공시가 된 모양이었네요..)

로스는 현재 자이언츠의 외야수들인 팻 버렐, 애런 로완드, 호세 기옌과 같은 우타라고..

이 팀의 다른 외야수 안드레스 토레스또한 스위치 히터입니다.

토레스하고 출장시간을 나눌 수 있을것이라고 합니다.

자이언츠가 꼭 로스가 필요하다기 보다는 다른팀이 데려가는것을 막을려고 했다고 하는 것 같습니다.
(샌디에이고 같은팀들...)

플로리다 말린스는 로스를 내보내면 백만달러의 연봉을 절약할 수 있을거라고 합니다.

Marlins signed 3B Wes Helms to a one-year, $1 million contract extension.
Helms has done a solid enough job at third base since the Marlins traded Jorge Cantu to the Rangers in July. The 34-year-old will make for a fine backup infielder in 2011, assuming the Fish make a few upgrades, and got a nice little raise from the $950,000 that he's earning this year.

The Jays have wisely tempered their excitement about the young power-hitting catcher. Sure, Arencibia is an exciting guy to watch in what has been a disappointing year for Toronto fans, but the 24-year-old is better off seeing regular playing time down on the farm. John Buck is expected return from the disabled list and take over starting catcher duties for the Jays on Friday.

Rangers recalled LHP Derek Holland from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
As expected, Holland will make the start against the Rangers on Wednesday afternoon. The young southpaw hasn't pitched in the big leagues since May 30 due to left rotator cuff inflammation. He is 2-1 with a 4.00 ERA in four starts since returning to action with Triple-A Oklahoma City. He's worth picking up in AL-only leagues down the stretch.

Reds designated RHP Micah Owings for assignment.
Owings posted a 5.40 ERA and 1.59 WHIP over 22 relief appearances this year for the Reds before they optioned him in late July. He's a great athlete and may draw interest from pitching-desperate teams. The move cleared a 40-man roster spot for first-round draft pick Yasmani Grandal.

Dodgers released RHP Claudio Vargas.
Vargas was signed to a minor league contract in June after being released by the Brewers. The 32-year-old right-hander posted a 5.89 ERA in 10 starts with Triple-A Albuquerque.

Giants released RHP Todd Wellemeyer.
Wellemeyer ate some innings for the Giants earlier this season but belongs nowhere near a playoff caliber pitching stuff. He posted a 5.52 ERA over 11 starts and will probably look for a bullpen gig elsewhere.

Phillies designated 3B Greg Dobbs for assignment.
Dobbs was also designated for assignment back in June and passed through waivers pretty easily. Why? Because he's 32, he's batting .191/.250/.319 in 141 at-bats this year, and he is a .261/.307/.411 career hitter. Look for him to wind up at Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

필라델피아 필리스가 3루수 그렉 돕스를 지명할당 조치했습니다.

올시즌 백업요원으로 141타수 동안 타/출장/ .191/.250/.319를 기록했으며 지난 4년간 필리스에서 백업선수로 생활했습니다.

지난 6월에도 지명할당 된적이 있었다고 하네요

그 당시 트리플 A에서 경기 뛴적도 있고 이번에도 트리플A로 가지 않을까 싶습니다.

Enrique Rojas of ESPNDeportes.com reports that the Dodgers have "strong interest" in Jose Guillen, but only in a part-time role.
Guillen was designated for assignment by the Royals last week, so he may have some more appealing choices if he becomes a free agent. The Giants are another team rumored to have interest.

ESPN 기사에 따르면 LA 다저스가 캔자스시티 로열스에 호세 기옌에게 큰 관심이 있다고 합니다만 풀타임이 아니라 파트타임 플레이어로서 관심을 있다고 합니다.

호세 기옌은 지난주 캔자스시티에서 지명할당을 당했습니다. 

자유계약선수 신분이 되면 조금 더 좋은 조건을 얻을 수도 있다고.. 샌프란시스코는 여전히 관심이 있다고 합니다.

영입이 된다면 아마도 좌투상대로 나오지 않을까 싶습니다. 몇일전에 트리플 A에서 올라온 제이 기븐스는 오늘 4타수 3안타

Andrew Baggarly of the San Jose Mercury News reports that the Giants are "discussing" Royals outfielder Jose Guillen.
The struggling and overpaid Guillen was designated for assignment by Kansas City on Thursday afternoon after batting .255/.314/.429 over 396 at-bats and .151/.198/.260 after the All-Star break. He's a liability in the outfield and would not do well in San Francisco's spacious AT&T Park, but the Giants want to beef up their bench and Guillen at least boasts a hint of power. The Royals should part with him easily.

샌프란시스코 자이언츠가 캔자스시티 로열스의 외야수 호세 기옌과 접촉하고 있다고 합니다.

8월 5일자로 지명할당 처리된 호세 기옌은 올시즌 타율 .255 16홈런 62타점을 기록중이였습니다.

자이언츠의 현재 외야진진 버렐(로완드) - 토레스 - 허프 인데요, 현재 토레스와 허프가 고정이라고 보면 버렐과 로완드 이 세명이

주전자리를 놓고 경합을 벌일 것으로 보입니다. 이적을 한다면 말이죠..

호세 기옌은 샌프란시스코를 제외하고도 뉴욕 양키스와 신시네티 레즈도 관심을 표명하고 있다고 합니다.

양키스는 기존에 지명타자를 맡을 수 있는 테임즈가 컨즈보다는 기옌이 더 낳은선수라고 보는 것 같습니다.

올시즌 연봉은 1200만달러 이며 시즌을 끝으로 3년 3600만달러의 계약이 종료됩니다.

연봉보고 깜짝놀랬습니다. 

캔자스시티는 트레이드 데드라인전에 트레이드 안하고 왜 이제와서 지명할당 하고 보낼려는지 납득이 안됩니다.

이러니 그라인케가 희망이 없다고 언론에 그러는 것 같네요

A source confirms to Jeff Fletcher of AOL Fanhouse that the Giants are interested in Scott Podsednik.
As Fletcher astutely points out, the two sides reportedly agreed on prospects for David DeJesus before his thumb injury, so they may be able to make progress on a deal rather quickly. He'd be a pretty nice fit in left field.

대한 이야기가 있었지만 무산되었고, 현재는 같은팀의 스캇 포드세닉에게 관심을 가지고 있습니다.

포드세닉은 좌익수에서 꽤 좋은 선택이라고...

MLB닷컴 언급에 의하면 샌디에이고 파드레스와 LA다저스도 관심이 있다고 합니다.

올시즌 93게임에서 .308의 타율과 43타점 30도루를 기록중입니다.

올시즌 연봉은 175만달러이며 내년시즌 200만달러의 클럽 옵션이 있습니다.
